Softball Recap: Las Cruces Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Las Cruces proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Alamogordo Tigers 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldawgs, who have now won three games in a row.

Las Cruces' win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Erica Silva, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Las Cruces pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Alamogordo, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.

Las Cruces will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
