Baseball Game Preview: Caravel Buccaneers vs. Laurel Bulldogs

The Caravel Buccaneers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Laurel Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Caravel will be strutting in after a win while Laurel will be coming in after a defeat.

Caravel's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Odessa with a sharp 7-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Ducks: they've now won four in a row.

Orvy Potts and Garrett Bohn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Potts didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Bohn tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Potts went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Bohn went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Caldwell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Quinn Hamrick was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Laurel came up short against Indian River on Thursday, falling 12-2.
