Basketball Preview: Independent Panthers vs. Kingman Eagles

Independent has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Kingman Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Independent stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Douglass 60-40. Given Independent's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kingman entered their tilt with the Cardinals with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Kingman secured a 48-42 W over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Tristen Davidson was a one-man wrecking crew for Kingman as he scored ten points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Bradshaw, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.

Independent's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Kingman, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

Independent didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 71-65 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Independent since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
