Horse Creek Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kingston Hightower, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Walls, who scored 14 points.

Horse Creek Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Gilbert, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5.

Horse Creek Academy has already played their next game, a 52-45 win against Blackville-Hilda on the 10th. As for Gilbert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-50 loss against Strom Thurmond on the 10th.
