Baseball Recap: Wachusett Regional Victorious

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Wachusett Regional and Westborough, and Wachusett Regional kept the tradition alive. The Mountaineers walked away with a 3-0 win over the Rangers on Friday. The Mountaineers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rangers, too.

Caden Lane was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Wachusett Regional back to even at 4-4. As for Westborough, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wachusett Regional will venture away from home to square off against Weymouth at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mountaineers 3.2, the Wildcats 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Westborough, they are taking a road trip to face off against Milford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
