Basketball Recap: Burlington Takes a Loss

Burlington lost against Deer Creek-Lamont last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Burlington Elks were beaten by the Deer Creek-Lamont Eagles 83-48. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Eagles are ranked 93rd).

Burlington has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Deer Creek-Lamont, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Burlington will challenge Canton at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Burlington is facing Canton at the right time seeing as Canton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Deer Creek-Lamont, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-57 win against Kremlin-Hillsdale on the 31st.
