Recap: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes vs. Classical Prep Lions
The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 48-6 loss at the hands of Classical Prep. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bishop McLaughlin Catholic has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic still got an impressive performance from Aliana Arana, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Arana hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Immacul?e Spann, who scored no points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.3 points per game. As for Classical Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is on the road again on Friday and play against Seven Rivers Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Seven Rivers Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bishop McLaughlin Catholic in Florida (Seven Rivers Christian is ranked 152nd, while Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is ranked 602nd). As for Classical Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Berkeley Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
