Basketball Recap: Holbrook Comes Up Short

Holbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 55-48 to the Abington Green Wave. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-34 last Friday.

Despite the loss, Holbrook still got an impressive performance from Ashya Dingle, who posted 18 points along with seven boards and five assists. That was a full 37.5% of Holbrook's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Janiyah Smith was another key player, putting up ten points.

Dingle wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Holbrook was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Holbrook's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Abington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Holbrook will square off against Old Colony RVT at 6:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Holbrook is facing Old Colony RVT at the right time seeing as Old Colony RVT is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Abington, they will challenge Carver at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
