Football Game Preview: Winter Springs Bears vs. Horizon Hawks + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Omar Scott and Kaio Oliveira are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Winter Springs Bears will square off against the Horizon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winter Springs' defense has only allowed 13.4 points per game this season, so Horizon's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Winter Springs beat Gateway 28-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Winter Springs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaylen Lowman and Julian Johnson. Lowman has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last four times he's played. Winter Springs got some further help from Nolan Brones: he made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Horizon fell victim to Evans and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Trojans, falling 44-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.

Winter Springs' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Horizon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Winter Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Horizon when the teams last played back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 21-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
