Recap: Alexandria City Titans vs. Robinson Rams

Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 27% better than the opposition, a fact the Alexandria City Titans proved on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Robinson 67-31 on the road. That looming 67-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Alexandria City yet this season.

Alexandria City found their leader in underclassman Darius Bivins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Bivins is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Christian "CJ" Washington, who scored 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why Robinson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Scott Van antwerp. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Van antwerp has scored all season.

Alexandria City pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Robinson, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Alexandria City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. Jackson-Reed knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 games -- so hopefully the Titans likes a good challenge. As for Robinson, they will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfax is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.
