Basketball Game Preview: Adrian Matadors vs. Hartley Tigers

Adrian hasn't had much luck against Hartley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Adrian Matadors will face off against the Hartley Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Adrian is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 55-23 loss at the hands of Texline. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1449th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 340th).

Meanwhile, Hartley entered their tilt with Pringle-Morse on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 33-22.

Hartley's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Adrian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Adrian suffered a grim 52-27 defeat to Hartley when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Adrian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
