Baseball Recap: Sandy Beats Reynolds for Their Third Straight Win

Sandy entered their tilt with Reynolds on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.

Carter Boyes tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Johnathin Silvis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Nate Reel was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Sandy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Sandy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Reynolds, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sandy will square off against rival Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.2, Nelson 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Reynolds is set to face off against their familiar foe Clackamas at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
