Softball Recap: Schoolhouse Prep Has No Trouble Against Mater Bay Academy

Schoolhouse Prep's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Mater Bay Academy Rays. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Samantha Torres's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Michelle Dominguez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

Schoolhouse Prep's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Mater Bay Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Schoolhouse Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Bay Academy, they will challenge iMater Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something the Rays will no doubt try to take advantage of.
