Softball Recap: Hopkinton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Hopkinton and Bedford squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Hopkinton had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 3-1. The Hillers' defeat signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Addy Walls was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Hopkinton's loss dropped their record down to 23-4. As for Bedford, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

As of now, neither Hopkinton nor the Buccaneers have any future games scheduled.
