Softball Recap: Lake Hamilton's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lake Hamilton barely beat El Dorado the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 16-1 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won eight matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Hadison Butterbredt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lana-Mae Stevenson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Ella Wilcox was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.

Lake Hamilton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Lake Hamilton's third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for El Dorado, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14-1.

Coming up, Lake Hamilton will face off against White Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. El Dorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
