South Lewis has gone 7-2 against Sackets Harbor Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Lewis has ten straight victories, Sackets Harbor Central has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
South Lewis' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Belleville Henderson Central as they made off with a 16-0 win. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Conner Carpenter and Maddox Morrison were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Carpenter pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Morrison didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. At the plate, Carpenter earned one run and two stolen bases, while Morrison got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Shaun McManus was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Thomas Spann was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
South Lewis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sackets Harbor Central and Alexandria Central meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Patriots lost 15-7 to the Purple Ghosts.
Dean Mildren and Christian McKeever stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mildren went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while McKeever went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. McKeever has become a key player for Sackets Harbor Central: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.
South Lewis' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sackets Harbor Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. South Lewis has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sackets Harbor Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
South Lewis took their victory against Sackets Harbor Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
