Basketball Recap: Columbus Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Columbus hadn't done well against Lone Tree recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Columbus Wildcats walked away with a 51-44 victory over the Lone Tree Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-37 back in December of 2024.

Columbus' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Lone Tree, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Columbus and Lone Tree will both be playing Winfield-Mt. Union the next time they take the court. Lone Tree will head out to face Winfield-Mt. Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Columbus will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
