It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but King ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Overlake Owls 4-3. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Nate Echebarger was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

King's pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Overlake, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King's will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sultan at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Overlake, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Bellevue Christian at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Owls 2.5, the Vikings 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
