Basketball Recap: Ausable Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

There's no place like home for AuSable Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 51-42 win over the Crown Point Panthers on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Leading AuSable Valley to victory were Aiden Blaise and Celton Dupis. Blaise dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards, while Dupis went 6 of 9 en route to 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Brown, who posted 11 points.

AuSable Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Crown Point lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Trevor Harris, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. Harris is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 39 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Bowman, who scored nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

AuSable Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Crown Point, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

AuSable Valley will head out to face off against Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Saranac will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something AuSable Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Crown Point, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Chazy at 6:30 p.m.
