For E.E. Smith's part, Jamey Quinta was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Makayla Nern was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Westover's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for E.E. Smith, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.
While Westover had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
