Baseball Recap: Millbrook Comes Up Short

Millbrook fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Wakefield on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Millbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Finn Clougherty was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Millbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Wakefield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Millbrook nor Wakefield have any future games scheduled.
