Preview: Somerset Bulldogs vs. Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls)

Somerset is on a three-game streak of home losses, Uvalde a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Somerset Bulldogs will take on the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Somerset suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Floresville 65-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Somerset has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Uvalde took a serious blow against Devine on Tuesday, falling 59-25. While losing is never fun, Uvalde can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1214th, while Devine is ranked 386th).

Somerset has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season. As for Uvalde, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Somerset didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Uvalde when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory. Will Somerset repeat their success, or does Uvalde have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
