Baseball Recap: West Valley Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, West Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of the Central Valley Falcons by a score of 2-1. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Falcons since Friday.

Kaden Wiley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

West Valley's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Central Valley, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Valley will welcome Anderson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Cubs at the right time seeing as the Cubs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Central Valley, they will be playing at home against University Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
