Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Childress Bobcats

For the second straight game, Roosevelt will face off against Childress. The Eagles will square off against the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roosevelt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Roosevelt is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Childress. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Caleb Daniel was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Roosevelt's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 6-1 (and 10-11-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Gavin Gonzales, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Roosevelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Childress has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12-1.
