Volleyball Recap: Lucerne Valley Takes a Loss

The Lucerne Valley Mustangs came up short against the Palmdale Academy Charter School Jaguars on Monday and fell 3-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lucerne Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 16-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-15.

Amaya Kelly paced Lucerne Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Kelly were helped by Brianna Torres and Ashlyn McTiernan, who contributed four assists each. Genesis Ayala controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lucerne Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Palmdale Academy Charter School, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-15.

Lucerne Valley has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against PAL Academy on the 25th. As for Palmdale Academy Charter School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Vasquez on the 23rd.
