Basketball Recap: Ocoee Skates Past Edgewater with Ease

Ocoee won the last time they faced Edgewater and things went their way on Thursday too. The Ocoee Knights claimed a resounding 65-36 win over the Edgewater Eagles. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-12.

It was another big night for Dakara Merthie, who went 7 of 12from beyond the arc on her way to 28 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Weiser, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists.

Ocoee pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Edgewater, they moved to 3-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Ocoee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-35 defeat against Dr. Phillips on the 6th. As for Edgewater, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-50 win against Wekiva on the 6th.
