Softball Recap: Avery County Takes a Loss

Avery County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mitchell on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mountaineers by a score of 8-7. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Avery County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Mitchell, they moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Avery County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
