Softball Game Preview: Nederland Bulldogs vs. Brenham Cubs

For the second straight game, Nederland will face off against Brenham. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cubs at 7:00 p.m. Nederland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Nederland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They skirted past Brenham 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Morgan Barron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Nederland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hope Foster, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Nederland's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Brenham, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-13.
