Preview: United Longhorns vs. East Central Hornets
The United Longhorns's road trip will continue as they head out to face the East Central Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. United will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 515th, while East Central is ranked 84th).
United's 22-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by ThunderRidge 76-43 on Saturday.
East Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Southwest Legacy 75-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for East Central.
United's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for East Central, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-3.
United strolled past East Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 64-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for United since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
