Softball Recap: Eagan Wildcats vs. Eastview Lightning
Eagan had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-11 to make it five. They lost 10-0 to the Eastview Lightning. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, with their most recent defeat being a 14-5 loss back in April.
As for Eastview, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.
For Eastview's part, Elise Dormody made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Dormody has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Ryann Mushett was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
