The victory was all the more spectacular given Buffalo Grove's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Wheeling are ranked 142nd).

Buffalo Grove's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Wheeling, they have now lost nine of their last 11 games on the road. That gives them a 2-2-1 record this season.

Looking ahead, Buffalo Grove will venture away from home to face off against Rolling Meadows at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wheeling, they will welcome Prospect at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
