Recap: South Aiken Thoroughbreds vs. Laney Wildcats

The South Aiken Thoroughbreds lost against the Laney Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. South Aiken lost to Laney on the road by a decisive 54-36 margin. South Aiken has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, South Aiken still got an impressive performance from Zanayia Harrison, who scored 12 points. Rheanna Elam was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Laney's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerusha Jenkins, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jenkins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zabrianna Mccladdie, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.

South Aiken has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Laney, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Josey the next time they take the court. South Aiken will head out to face Josey at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Laney will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
