Volleyball Recap: Timpview's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

It was a Battle of the Birds when Timpview duked it out with Maple Mountain on Thursday. The Thunderbirds fell 3-1 to the Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunderbirds of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Timpview started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.

Livia Eyre paced Timpview's offense, picking up 15 kills. Eyre got some help from Isabella Ballin and her 24 assists. Telia Fiatoa controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Among those leading the charge was Aliyah Marks, who had 16 digs and three assists. Marks is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Timpview's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Maple Mountain, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Timpview has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Pleasant Grove on the 16th. As for Maple Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Payson on the 16th.
