Softball Game Preview: Leeds Greenwave vs. Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils

Leeds hasn't had much luck against Mortimer Jordan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Greenwave will challenge the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Leeds came up short against John Carroll Catholic on Thursday, falling 10-4.

Leeds saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Galloway, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mortimer Jordan came up short against Hayden on Thursday and fell 8-5.

Tatum Hays T. was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another was Leah Wangaard, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Leeds' loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Mortimer Jordan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-20 record this season.

Leeds couldn't quite get it done against Mortimer Jordan when the teams last played back in February of 2021 as they fell 6-2. Can the Greenwave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
