Football Recap: Sparks Railroaders vs. Spring Creek Spartans
Sparks played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 34-7 loss at the hands of the Spring Creek Spartans. The Railroaders haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Spring Creek was led to victory by McCoy McArtor and Landon Boyle. McArtor rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, while Boyle rushed for 83 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. What's more, Boyle posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Colton Cunningham was in the mix as well, providing Spring Creek with one TD.
Sparks now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Spring Creek, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparks will face off against Fernley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spring Creek, they will take on Virgin Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 838 yards in their previous games.
