Softball Recap: Bronson Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Bronson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Bell Bulldogs 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 3rd.

Julianne Lampton spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, Jordyn Paige was incredible, going 5-for-6 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brystal Howard, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-6.

Bronson now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Bell, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10.

Bronson will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Bell, they will square off against Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fightin' Tigers have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
