Football Game Preview: Guilford Vikings vs. Boylan Catholic Titans

The Guilford Vikings will square off against the Boylan Catholic Titans at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Guilford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Guilford will bounce into Friday's game after beating Rockford East, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 50-24 margin over the E-Rabs on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won four matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Boylan Catholic was beaten by Harlem 49-7 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Huskies are ranked 130th).

Boylan Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything went Guilford's way against Boylan Catholic in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Guilford made off with a 28-7 win. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
