Soccer Game Preview: Godwin vs. Matoaca

The Godwin Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Matoaca Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Godwin is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Hermitage get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for Godwin in their matchups with Hermitage: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Matoaca was forced to settle for a draw. They and Hopewell finished up their game with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.

Godwin now has a winning record of 3-2. With that draw, Matoaca's record moves to 2-3-1.

Godwin took their victory against Matoaca in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
