Baseball Recap: Apollo Ridge Takes a Loss

If Apollo Ridge was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Carlynton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings lost 17-6 to the Kiski Area Cavaliers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Apollo Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Stewart, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Apollo Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Kiski Area, their record is now 4-8.

Looking ahead, Apollo Ridge will welcome Aquinas Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Kiski Area, they will venture away from home to take on Penn-Trafford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
