Basketball Recap: Alpena Piles Up the Points Against Hillman

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cadillac, Alpena was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They really took it to the Hillman Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-39 victory. With the Wildcats ahead 48-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Hillman's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cuyler Schultz, who posted five points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Alpena's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Hillman, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Coming up, Alpena will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kalkaska at 7:00 p.m. Alpena is facing Kalkaska at the right time seeing as Kalkaska is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hillman, they are taking a road trip to challenge Au Gres-Sims at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
