Bowie has gone 9-1 against Austin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bowie Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Austin Maroons at 7:30 p.m. Bowie will be strutting in after a win while Austin will be coming in after a defeat.

Bowie is headed into the match having just posted their closest victory since December 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Akins out 53-51. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Eagles are ranked 543rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Austin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 43-39 to Akins. The loss continues a trend for the Maroons in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Bowie, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-14 record this season.

Bowie barely slipped by Austin in their previous meeting on January 7th, winning 48-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bowie since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
