Baseball Recap: Northern Huskies vs. Varsity Opponent
On Thursday, the Northern Huskies earned a 6-1 victory over Varsity Opponent. The win made it back-to-back victories for Northern.
Cole Folk and Wally Brands did most of the damage at the plate: Folk scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Brands went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kyle Broadwater, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with a triple and an RBI.
The win got Northern back to even at 7-7. As for Varsity Opponent, their loss dropped their record down to 67-164-6.
Northern will be playing at home against Hancock at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-3 victory vs. Bethel Christian Academy on the 25th.
