Baseball Game Preview: Fountain Hills Falcons vs. Veritas Prep Falcons

Fountain Hills will challenge Veritas Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fountain Hills comes in on seven and Veritas Prep on five.

Fountain Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Round Valley.

Lucas Grieco was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Sidhu, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, while Veritas Prep put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Scottsdale Christian Academy. The Falcons skirted past the Eagles 1-0.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Cade Huseth, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up zero walks). Huseth has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tico Lentz, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Fountain Hills' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Veritas Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Fountain Hills suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Veritas Prep in their previous meeting back in March. Can Fountain Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
