Basketball Recap: Taylor Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calvary Christian Academy, Taylor was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They slipped by the Crooms Academy Panthers 61-60. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 65-59 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Taylor was led to victory by Jace Harcus and Zachery McKinnon. Harcus went 10 for 16 on his way to 28 points, while McKinnon dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Those 15 points gave McKinnon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josue Lorenzo, who posted two points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenai Anderson, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Julian Gill was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

The victory got Taylor back to even at 2-2. As for Crooms Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Taylor will challenge Florida School for the Deaf & Blind at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Taylor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season. As for Crooms Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-63 loss against Innovation on the 11th.
