Jones came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Calhoun Sandcrabs, falling 3-0. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jones took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.

Harper Green paced Jones' offense, picking up 12 kills. Green got some help from Khloe Avalos and her 23 assists.

Jones' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 32-5. As for Calhoun, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jones will face off against rival Sinton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Calhoun is set to take on their familiar foe Rockport-Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
