Basketball Game Preview: Moran Bulldogs vs. Garner Longhorns

The Moran Bulldogs and the Garner Longhorns will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Moran turned things around against Panther Creek last Tuesday. They walked away with a 42-30 win over the Panthers.

It was another big night for Ellis Hise, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Moran's points. Another player making a difference was Cotton Campbell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Garner posted their closest victory since December 5th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 win over Wichita Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.

Moran better keep an eye on Dawson Miller. He was instrumental in Garner's win, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Arms, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 rebounds.

Garner has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Moran, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Moran has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Garner struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.2 boards.
