Basketball Recap: Fayette Takes a Loss

Fayette's tournament run continued when they took on Blair Oaks on Tuesday. The Fayette Falcons took a blow against the Blair Oaks Falcons, falling 79-21. The contest marked Fayette's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Fayette still got an impressive performance from Payton Oeth, who posted six points. What's more, Oeth also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Blair Oaks, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Fayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-57 defeat against Marshall on the 30th. As for Blair Oaks, they will head out to square off against Glasgow at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. Glasgow knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Blair Oaks likes a good challenge.
