Basketball Game Preview: Churchill Chargers vs. Vista Ridge Rangers

The Churchill Chargers will square off against the Vista Ridge Rangers on Thursday. Churchill will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak.

Churchill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against O'Connor by a score of 56-43. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Panthers are ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Maroons, posting a 56-29 win. The Rangers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 21 games by 20 points or more this season.

Churchill pushed their record up to 29-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Vista Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 29-6.

Churchill didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Vista Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory.
