Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau). They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Westby Norsemen on Thursday. While the Red Hawks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Calvin Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau got a massive performance out of Adain Busch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Caiden Brady, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Westby, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau will welcome Altoona at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westby, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against West Salem at 5:00 p.m.
