Soccer Recap: Maranacook Takes a Loss

If Maranacook was feeling good fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Mountain Valley last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Black Bears took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monmouth Academy Mustangs on Thursday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Maranacook couldn't quite close it out.

Maranacook's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-2. As for Monmouth Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Maranacook will take on Maine Central Institute at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Monmouth Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against North Yarmouth Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
